Contemporary new restaurant, Contrario Vineria con Cucina is born from Alex and Anda’s passion for proper tasty food. Our mission is to offer our guests a unique culinary experience, focused on taste, with great attention to details and to the flavours of the traditional Roman cuisine.
Using a unique blend of Roman culinary traditions, our chefs bring an artistic and innovative approach, with dedication and excellence always at the forefront.
We make proper tasty food, but we focus on good drinks as well. We can offer a vast and carefully selected variety of wines from the best Italian and international canteens.

Our qualified staff will be able to advise you on the perfect combination of flavours and dishes to satisfy your culinary desires.
Contrario has become our favorite restaurant and there are many reasons… Upon entering you are immediately greeted by the smile and hospitality of Alex and Anda who, together with Vlad and the other members of the staff, make all their courtesy and experience. The restaurant is warm and welcoming, with the walls filled with an infinite selection of wines that satisfy the eye even before the palate. And then the cuisine, traditional, revisited, excellent. Whether it’s a carbonara or a raw fish, the raw material is excellent and the chef makes each dish a taste experience. To be tried and repeated…over and over again
The environment is welcoming and intimate, the staff very kind and attentive. We took the puntarelle: perfect, an amatriciana: tasty with a good aftertaste of smoke, some pork ribs with herbs: they melted in the mouth! Choice of wines obviously varied and for all tastes. All a stone’s throw from the Colosseum. To go back!
